What services can I expect a pet sitter to perform during an in-home pet care visit?

Generally, pet sitters will feed your pets, provide fresh water, administer most medications, walk, play with and nurture your pets. They will clean litter boxes and cages, water a normal amount of houseplants, bring in mail, take out trash, rotate lights and open and close window treatments. Some pet sitters will perform other tasks upon request, such as watering outdoor plants.

What will the pet sitter do if my pet becomes ill and needs veterinary care?

The pet sitter should discuss with you, beforehand, how you want emergencies dealt with.  You will provide your veterinarians phone number and other emergency contact information.

How do I know keys to my house are secure?

Often the pet sitter will ask to keep your keys.  This is convenient for both you and the pet sitter for future pet care visits.  Most pet sitters use a coded key system that provides for security and keys are kept locked away.

Will my pet be cared for if the pet sitter has an emergency and can’t provide services?
